What the heck just happened?

I was working on my laptop listening to music through my setup and I heard a sharp, loud snap like a balloon pop or bang snapper.

I thought I blew something in the preamp or amp.

I check everything as best I can. All seems to be working fine. I sniff the gear. No burning odors. Both channels good.

Any idea as to what may have happened?

Setup is a Assemblage L-1 single tube preamp, B&K EX4420 amplifier, Hsu Research HB-1 speakers. Source is an old imac feeding a Dragonfly.
