...I took my then 15 year old daughter who loves music and grew up on the Beatles, Beach Boys and classic rock to see Steve Winwood about 9 years ago.
When he played "Gimme Some Lovin" from 1966 and said it was 40 years old, I asked her if she thought any of the music she listens to will be around in 40 years.
She said no way - the groups don't stay together very long any more and the music is more throw-away in the moment than timeless.
I've taken her to see Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones and she's loved every minute.
