RE: Top Gear for audio

Regrettably, to some extent this is already being done in every issue of a given monthly publication. And in forums like this one. And in advertisements.

But what some-to-many of us don't get, is that in the automobile industry there is a huge performance gulf between the typical street driven car, the exotic sports car, and the ultimate racing machines, e.g. F1 or Top Fuel dragsters.

Whereas, there is often times only a tiny creek or stream of a difference that separates many enthusiasts' typical playback systems and the very best SOTA-level $1M+ systems.

In other words, if one's focus is only the Top Gear bling bling that money can buy, your suggestion might make sense.

But if your suggestion is more from a performance-oriented Top Gear perspective, they've already been producing such television programs for decades now, e.g. Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, As the Stomach Churns, etc.

Rather, what this industry needs is a means or avenue for which new techologies can be introduced to the marketplace. But sadly, there's little real interest in performance, since so many are so swept up by the bling bling, or worse, so many have untrained ears so that it really doesn't matter what they hear.

So maybe the bling bling Top Gear route is the best route after all.
