Have you tried turning your speakers sideways so they hit your ears more directly, mimicking the effect you are getting with headphones?

This getting old stuff really sucks. I wish I had taken the extended warranty. Ears, eyes, knees, blood sugar, etc. I wish I could recap and make it all go away.
