RE: 7.1 an improvement over 5.1?

I could not agree more that it is best to have 2 systems. One for stereo (music) and the other for a home theater set-up. My question was only with respect to the HT system. I also listen to a separate system for music, like you. The answer to all of your questions is yes, with one exception. I can't find the microphone for the YPAO room correction system on my Yamaha receivers. I ordered a new one today though. And, it actually is a 9.2 set-up that I have with this system. In fact, it's even a little more than that. One of the Yamaha receivers I am using has outputs for 2 center channels (and 2 subs). The room is very large (in a basement) so it's nice to utilize 2 centers. One up close to the screen, the other closer to seating positions. Speakers are all good B&Ws with a Klipsch sub. One receiver is a decent 9.2 HT by Yamaha, the other that I am using to drive the centers and front channels is an older flagship receiver from Yamaha. For BDs/DVDs I have a Pioneer BDP-05FD and a Sony NSZ-GT1. I am currently using a no-name projector but, all things considered, I have been very impressed by it so far. Thanks for all the advice. I still need to pick up a good blu-ray encoded in 9.1(2) or 7.1(2) now that I have everything all hooked up. Looking forward to being blown away!
