I have a good scope but sometimes it's quite handy to have a second one. Especially an isolated battery powered device. The ipads are isolated and tidy and if they had so much as an audio line-level input might be handy...
Currently I'm using a really, really, really old hp desktop (resplendent with CRT monitor) and DSP SW to do FFT's and it works fine but I'm pretty sure that an ipad has more MIPs and would likely work great if it weren't so i/o limited. And it would be isolated with about 1000th the size and mass...
