Am I missing something here? In this secondary system I have been setting up in the basement, I am using 2 Yamaha receivers. I want to use the newer one (RX-V665) basically as a pre-amp because of the 7.2 configuration capability and for the larger selection of DSP modes and its ability to upconvert video to 1080p. I want to use the second receiver as an amp (RX-V2092). I have attached pictures of the backs of both. The top 2 pics show the 2092 that I want to use as an amp. The bottom 2 pics show the 665 that I want to use as a pre-amp. It would appear that, while both receivers have many pre-outs, the receiver I want to use as my amp only has an input for the front speakers and not any of the other channels. If that is, in fact, the case then I would only be able to drive the front speakers with the 2nd receiver. Is that true or am I missing something that's staring me right in the face? I don't understand why they would make these receivers with all the pre-outs but so very limited inputs. Any suggestions?
