In a related note, for several years, Kid Rock refused to let iTunes carry his music. He did not believe in the business model. My favorite quote I once heard him make during an interview was something to the effect of, "I have made plenty of money. If the kids are smart enough how to figure out how to download my music for free, I saw more power to them." Something in the intervening years apparently changed though, because you can now download his music from iTunes. I don't know if he altered his ideals or if iTunes gave him some sort of concession. I strongly suspect that he had to loosen his ideals. iTunes has transformed that entire industry.
