Perhaps, if you don't know what to look for. Then again, if you don't know what to look for, I'd say the odds are just the same for being screwed on AA, AudioGon, eBay, or buying new.

IMO, it all comes down to astute observation and common sense. In fact, I prefer CL when possible.
