Money is thrown at Ghazal singers and belly dancers. In Lucknow City in India there were these dance halls with ravishing dancers who used to get cash and diamonds thrown at them.
I have been to a Burlesque place in Times Square where some guys wanted to place dollar notes at the vantage points of the dancers. Not just an Asian practice.
