Those rooms NOT exclusively playing vinyl, and many were, were either playing directly from a computer of some sort and/or spinning silver disks.
I'd say over half of the rooms would willingly play just about any CD you brought into the room and most of those were 16/44.1 Redbook CDs.
In fact, many rooms playing music from files of one sort or another would announce that what you were hearing was ripped CD's not Hi Rez.
First they came for the dumb-asses
