Is this actually a perceived problem? I think that you and I buying used gear makes it possible for somebody else to purchase new gear, that eventually becomes our used gear. I daresay bricks and mortar stores would be in a worse position if the one line sales community was not available. Don't forget that many online sellers are actually reputable bricks and mortar stores selling their excess wares, trade-ins, etc. and are part of the on-line shopping community.
