I went to Glenn Poor's Audio in Champaign, IL, a few months ago (see Mind's Eye Music blog for full write-up). I walked in unannounced, and hoped to hear Wilson Alexias, which were newly released at that time. I could not have been treated any nicer. Geoff himself rolled out the red carpet when I told him that I write an audio blog. Bruce Pea (ArsHarmonia speakers designer/builder) happened to be there during my visit, and ran me through his Desmond model, which was a featured component at Poor's at the time. These people realized that I'd enjoy my experience, which I did, and their store benefitted from my glowing review, which was VERY MUCH appreciated.
I drove over 200 miles to garner the listen, and the entire experience was customer service personified. Brilliant. Someone (his father?) taught him how to treat a customer, although I was never to buy at the time. I would, however, if a shitload of $ dropped into my path. They get my bucks should a huge purchase come my way.
