EM, a few comments from a user

First, you can find much more information by searching hearing aids here on AA. The subject comes up with some regularity.

Second, pay attention to Awe-d-o-file, he works in this field.

Third, yes, expect significant changes. Your deterioration was gradual (I assume) and the correction was immediate. Your brain will adapt to many things that stand out to you now.

Be patient, it may require a few visits to your audiologist to best adjust your devices for music listening. Most industry research understandably has been with speech, and they can do a great job with that. But music is more complex and has had less study. Depending upon the number of parameters which can be tailored with your units some personal experimentation will be necessary. Unfortunately serious music listeners are at a greater disadvantage here than average consumers.

Bottom line? Yes it will be worth it. And you will appreciate tonality, not just the overall musical presentation. Good luck.
