Hello El Monte. Could I suggest a fairly simple experiment you can do ?
Take two new hearing aid batteries from the packet, put them into a plain plastic bag and place them in your domestic deep freezer for about 48 hours. When you take them out it is important to allow them to return to room temperature very, very slowly by placing them in such as a towel.
Replace the existing hearing aid batteries with the new (treated) batteries and wear the hearing aids for about a week, get used to that sound, and then change the batteries back again to the previous (untreated) batteries.
Regards,
May Belt,
Manufacturer.
