I think you just have to keep an open mind to the technology. I have found that what I like or get impressed by some SS the experience has always been largely fleeting. And I grew up with and have the bulk of my experience with expensive ss amplifiers.
In 25 years I am still waiting to hear SS that really makes me FEEL something when listening to music. You'd think there would be one affordable SS amp in that time to come down the pipe that would really do it for me. The Sugden A21a is about the only one and it basically mirrors a SET. And I like less expensive tube amps these days. I heard a real good one in Hong Kong but at $500,000US it is kind of irrelevant. Nothing I have heard from the major SS makers that get rave press in the magazines have done anything for me. They make music sound like the ghostly outer casing or shell of the music - lots of treble and attack and little else. Similar to many a speakers with lots of treble and bass that wow you and then an hour later your looking at TV guide.
