Unless it is on raw drivers. SPL increases with power linearly up to a point where more power does not increase the output as much. When you have significant compression from your speakers, the sound goes to poo. This often happens on peaks. Give me a speaker that does not compress, has wide & linear frequency response, even impedance and has low resonance and I will give you a lot of fru-fru words to describe the sound.
