I think you find the LX project to sound pretty darn good when done! The man (Linkwitz) has been around the block a few times, so any information you can glean from him or his work is a good thing.
I had the opportunity to talk with Mr. Linkwitz a few years back regarding my own dipole design that I was struggling with. While we didn't exactly see eye to eye on some issues (mainly active vs. passive- my project used a passive crossover while most of his use active, of which he is a serious proponent of), he was a boatload of information regarding some of the math.
