Some of their products may not be the greatest value, but they tend to be well made and with some sense of style - which is why their products appeal to some people.
Plus, in a world of overwhelming choice, Bose offers a "known, good value" that provides a great deal of consumer confidence and security.
I suggested to my mother that she buy a Bose Wave, likely the same unit. She was thrilled with it. Anything by Bose, it has to be good.
It's a small thing, and if it's what your wife would like then where's the harm? Don't be tempted to offer suggestions or turn into an arrogant audiophile who knows better than her.
