Hi and thanks a lot again
A very peculiar amp i see
I am verything but an expert so i end here my questions. I would not be able to understand the answers anyway.
A truly fascinating amp.
And of course the test in the listening.
But i have noticed one thing.
In the late 70' the amps were less complex ... almost textbook topologies
And the sound was quite good.
Then they start to complicate circuits and the sound maybe is more precise and controlled but less musical, harder and flatter.
Less in the space around and more in the speakers.
As an hobby i have started playing with LTSpice, a simulation software.
I understand that one thing is a math simulation and another one actual measurements on a prototype/product.
Nevertheless i am amazed to see how much performance can be obtained from very basic topologies. I do not understand why a line preamp must have more than 20 active devices per channel for instance.
Thanks a lot again.
Kind regards,
bg
