RE: Kickstarter

As a neighbor to Jim, I can attest he was initially very reluctant to use kickstarter. I kinda had to twist his arm ( just a little). Being a one man company takes a lot of time and expertise that often simply saps away at your available time. Jim is a talented designer that, IMHO, deserves better recognition, but he isn't a PR man and prefers not to huck his wares. Kickstarter was perfect for hi to introduce his product on larger scale to a broader audience which may have initially overlooked him.

I offered to introduce Jim to a few of my distributors but his reply that the additional markups would make the unit cost much higher. Unusual integrity in this day and age. He told me he wanted to sell the best value for the money phono stage he could build.

I find his Bugle ( first Kickstarter) a killer !
