to an extent on the accuracy of the sound, but the effect also depends on how good a performance it is. The affect/effect is my only reason for being in the hobby.I like the affect/effect of bagpipes, I mostly marched and paraded to 'pipes and drums,' and also love the sound - when well played. Makes drill and all that square-bashing a whole other thing. A real performance, a unity.
But some people can't stand them. Is it the sound or the music as a whole?
