The one exception are those Japanese on the huge drums. that is kind of interesting. At least to watch once.
Otherwise drums, drummers and drumming in general is about as interesting to me as watching clothes dry on a line.
(drum solos in Jazz Yikes... I tolerate them, but would never buy any Jazz music for it's drum solos.)
Now it is true without some drums much music would not be as good.
It is just the centralization or focus on drums I do not get AT ALL.
Like banging. gee what does it take to bang? yeah STEADY banging,, like WOW... not.
(Yeah I KNOW I invite endless hate from drummers and drum fans.. I am just telling it how i feel it.Now a good Saxophone.. or a piano, or violin, or clarinet, or oboe, or trumpet, French horn. bassoon, (added: guitar.. yeah lots of sorts of guitars..) viol, or just about ANY instrument.. (well tuba is pretty boring) better than drums.
There i said it.
Feel free to throttle me, all you drum freaks..
