And one doesn't have to buy new. One can get a good used car for $7,000 or less. But why when gas prices are approaching $4.00 per gallon.
Walking, riding a bike or the bus is a lot more economical.
I refuse to own a car again until gasoline comes back down to 99 cents a gallon or lower! I was really, really, really pissed when gas went to $2.00 per gallon. And when it went to $3.00 per gallon I refused to pay it and sold my car!
