We are also celebrating the 200th anniversary of repelling the American attempt at invasion of 1812.
The USA did, however, win the popular song contest, with"The Battle of New Orleans", even though that battle, when you "Fought the Bloody British at the Town of New Orleans" was fought after the war was over.
