That should be possible....

I see the Cambridge Audio A1 mk3 has a tape monitor loop. What that means is that the sound from any of the inputs will be also available on the tape out jacks on the back of the integrated amplifier.

If you connect a cable from the tape out jacks to an RCA input on the Sony, anything other than a Phono input, then you can use the Sony to drive the 5.1 speaker connections.

Mind you, you could also use a passive switcher that will allow multiple inputs and a single output, but I'm presuming your question relates to equipment you already own.

If you want to go with a switcher to the Sony and not have to use the Cambridge, do a search for "Stereo Switcher" or "RCA Switcher". A lot of them will also include an S Video connection, but you don't have to use that, just the Left and Right audio jacks.
