Slippery slope dear."Yes that is exactly what I am saying, when someone starts speaking on a cell phone everyone looks to see if they are talking to them. Someone talking on a cell phone is no different than someone loudly talking to themselves, it is not normal behavior to engage in public. The height of rudeness is to talk to this "invisible" person while waiting in line or worse while pretending to listen to a real live person while taking on a cell phone!
On the other hand two people talking in real life are usually looking at each other and other people in the vicinity can tell they are engaging in conversation, this is totally normal behavior.

No, because these are real people eating lunch there is and should be no cell phone involved just real people eating and talking. However I think it is exploitation of white collar workers to have to work during lunch as that is supposed to be their free time.

No because these are people actually talking face to face to one an another, other people can clearly see what is going on. However if their time is not paid by the companies they work for once again it is exploitation.

I will never own a cell phone because I know the truth about them and how evil they are, that is why I created the anti-cellphone forum. Not only are cell phone users rude but so are the commercials that recruit them. I'm sure you seen the commercial where a couple is out for dinner, while the guy watches a game on his phone while pretending to listen to his date. Can't get much ruder than that. I advocate a ban on all cellphones and the taking down of all cell site towers.

I believe my views are normal, and I feel sorry for people who got tricked into owning cell phones. However some people are born rude and if they didn't own cell phones they might find other ways to be rude. There is no non-rude way to use a cell phone in public IMHO.
