Shipping an amp like a Krell on a pallet is quite safe, particularly if it is in factory packing and strapped to the pallet. In fact it is the safest way to get the amp back to the factory as hand carrying the box is almost inevitably going to lead to its being dropped. That is recommendation of Krell itself, last time I checked.
If a fork lift drives through it then claim for the whole unit.
