Spikes help the sound but damage the floor.
And THAT you do not want to do

A simple way around this is to use a quarter under the spikes. No need for fancy pucks, unless one feels that the general decor of the house would be affected.

Rounded 'spikes' will damage the floor too, not as much, but will

have a good weekend
