How about those Chinese sockets for 845 tubes? The tolerance is sooo far out on those that you can usually rotate the tube while it's in its socket, easily causing a very dangerous short (fire hazard?). I've listened to plenty of Chinese gear, and I even bought a MHZS CD-88, but I've never seen anything exceptional upon opening up a Chinese amp. For examply, my CD player has these Multicap branded coupling capacitors on the board....yet off the next stage, cheap electrolytics. If you're not savvy on designs or basic engineering, the happy pink clould arond your latest Chinese purchase probably won't shatter (I'm really talking about the eBay amps/CD players under $1500).
