Not in my experiences

Of course our experiences are different. For whatever this is worth - I've got nice car stereos.

"Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Take Them On, On Your Own;
Not sure about this record in particular but Howl sounds fantastic on a good stereo - pretty sure I've posted on it over in Rocky Road

Motorhead - Ace of Spades; "
Not a chance! I never liked this stuff until I heard it on a good hifi - it sucks in the car. Yea I get your point but until I heard it on a good system I had never heard it right.

"Iggy and the Stooges - Raw Power (BTW, don't bother getting the remastered version. When extreme distortion is your goal while recording you don't need a clearer window into it.) "
I agree about the remaster but again it's not an enjoyable listen in my car either.

"Derek & the Dominos - Layla "
I like the song Layla - and I understand its appeal through the lowest fidelity reproducer. But the truth of the matter is the recording isn't that bad. When I bought the album it was much different than I expected and I was disappointed. For sure though I enjoy the song much more a better system than on a car stereo.
Give me rhythm or give me death!
