Understandable I suppose. They typically have great habitual, financial, and ultimately emotional commitments.

My involvement with hi-fi goes back more that 35 years, so I was around before any the advent of digital. I had a decent system with appropriate attention paid to my vinyl playback chain. But due to personal circumstances I "neglected" both my listening and my equipment for more than a dozen years from the mid/late '80s and throughout the '90s. This hiatus allowed me to avoid the whole anti-digital reaction. Consequently by the time my interest revived digital recording and playback had improved; also I personally was without the vinylphile calcifiation that afflicts so many.
