One of the most deceiving specs for digital playback the "low THD" figure. It's so because with classic filtering, virtually all harmonics above 11.025 kHz are stripped away, hence no harmonic distortion. You can digitize a signal that originally has 5 percent THD, and it will be reduced to 0.01 percent because the harmonics, including harmonic distortion, are literally removed.
