"The adherence to this ancient medium is impeding audio progress."
The general public will prefer convenience over quality 365 days a year, seven days a week and twice on Sunday. Was VHS better than BETA?, was the cassette tape better than Reel to Reel? or going way back....was the Victrola records better than Edison Diamond Disks? ...uh...NO.
The old analog format (vinyl) is not holding back the progress of digital...the general public thinks that redbook CD and low res MP3's sound just fine...that's reality. If one believes otherwise, you might have to fork over some cash for a decent stereo system...most people prefer the fantasy that low res CD's and MP3's sound great.....also, you can burn CD's and MP3's for next to nothing...I'm afraid the fantasy will continue for a long long time.
