but it resistance to high resolution stereo and multi-channel audio by the CD propagandists and their followers! You are blaming the wrong format.
Vinyl and SACD are both high resolution. If lower cost SACD player's sound quality was improved enough to equal the best audiophile Vinyl and the SACD revolution was really to come and everything was on SACD then yes Vinyl might die. I say might as some people collect Vinyl for other than it's superior sound quality.
As it is now in comparison of the best audiophile recordings on LP and SACD, the LP version usually wins on my equipment. But Harry Pearson (HP) who's ears I trust tells me the best megabuck SACD players are equal to or better than the best megabuck turntables. This just needs to filter down to lower cost models. Once SACD reaches this level I just hope it isn't killed by the low resolution (CD,MP3) stuck in the mud types.
So you see it's low resolution digital that is holding back high resolution multi-channel.
Music is love,
Mono is not music to my ears.
Give me stereo or give me silence!
