Tom, if you're sufficiently appalled at the writing found here to protest at such length, it behooves you to attempt to attain your self-proclaimed standard. Describing posts by saying "but some border on illiterate" implies that these posts are somehow capable of self-generation despite being barely able to write themselves. Presumably you did not mean to refer to the deaf by the use of the word "dumb", as this is an audio forum. "Or much else, for that matter." does not qualify as a decent or even complete sentence, although using such a phrase in a conversational manner as you did is often more effective that conforming exactly to the rules of grammar.
