The Nokia Theater is visually magnificent...... But to my surprise, the place had a major bass "standing wave" problem, which I'd associate with "arena" type venues..... But still, the sound was well above the norm......

I used the "Hearos" high-fidelity earplugs. They worked as advertised. Heard the full brilliance of the band without the excessive loudness. I can recommend these to anyone.

The concert? Magnificent as well. A lot of songs of course from "Snakes & Arrows", with the highlight being the song "The Larger Bowl". For those who only heard this song on CD, this may be a musical revelation live.

The concert opened with "Limelight", another highlight. One surprise was the song "One Little Victory", which never really did much for me from recording, but was fabulous in the flesh. "Spirit of Radio" was electric as always. Neil Peart changed up his "Der Trommler" a bit, using new fills to keep the drum solo fresh. (Although I never was a fan of that "jazz" finale.) Other highlights were "Tom Sawyer", "Mission", "Red Barchetta", "Science", and "YYZ". (I also heard a nice song I didn't even recognize.) Another new twist I never recalled seeing at Rush concerts were the use of "flame bursts" and pyrotechnics.

The trio was in top form. Geddy's voice was well-rested, and was hitting those high notes at the end of "Free Will". Neil, who I thought may have lost some precision as of late, proved me wrong as well. He was incredible.

It was a well-balanced show that checked in at three hours in duration, just as long as the "R30" concert. (There was a 20 minute intermission, and no opening band.)
