Live in Austin, so many mention West her latest effort, so much so that I feel obliged to include the name of one of her guitarists on that album, that surely did his part to help make it a success with his loops, effects and one of a kind tone!Bill Frisell, and his vast catalogue should be a delight to listen to on any system be it demo or home. If I wanted to sell gear and were in that business Id go no further than his 2 disc set titled EAST/ WEST.
The first set recorded direct to disc at Yoshis in So. Cal. for a more modern/exciting jazz guitar flavor, listen as the music starts slowly then builds in intensity till the bubble bursts.
Then venture on to disc 2 EAST recorded, again direct to disc at the Village Vanguard in N.Y. for a more slower traditional jazz sound.IMO an utterly AMAZING guitarist and improviser...
These two artists were both relatively new, to me anyway, and to see them converge both they're talent's on one album was a real joy. Lets hope for much more success from these two very unique and terrific musicians in the years to come!
