Unfortunately your post doesnt give a list of equipment you have. So its a bit hard to figuire out where the best place is to spend the money.But here are my thoughts.
Experiment with a computer based music player. If you have a DAC try one of the Hagerman USB to SPDIF convertors and run a laptop as your transport. If you have only a laptop, try one of the highly touted bang for the buck sound cards. A computer based music server is capable of high quality sound, and is really quite convenient.
Room treatments are a good idea. Get some of the Corning hard fiber acoustic panels, and cover them in an attractive fabric.
DIY some power cords. High quality power cords make a suprising difference in sound quality. Places like Micheal Percy, or other on line sources have very good connectors and bulk wire for reasonable prices.
Or sav a bit more, sell that weak link in the audio chain and find a nice replacement from the used market.
