I ship Internationally weekly and always use the USPS. However, everything I send is relatively light. If cost is close, I would always use USPS..never a lost shipment and never any damage. You can get burned if you accept Paypal or C.C. payment if the buyer does a chargeback. As the other respondent suggests, if you underdeclare the value, make certain that the buyer accepts responsibility for loss or damage. If you get caught underdeclaring value I think that can get in a bit of trouble for this, although I doubt you would ever get caught. Also, I am pretty certain that Italy is one of the worst EU destinations in terms of reliable delivery so you might want to accept cash type payments only. Just my .2 cents.
