At least mp3s are good enough for her.
The hardest thing to explain is why all the constant upgrading, tweaking, and swapping out of hardware, not because I am whipped, but just because I think any sane person would question these things, so I let it go as simple human interest, and you know how women love that stuff.
I was swapping out speakers every other day for a while, and eventually my wife told me she thought the PSBs sounded the best and she didn't know why I was even trying to upgrade when all the new stuff sounded worse. It was hard to argue with that. She also thinks my DAC looks nice and was wondering why I was trying to put it under the table when I should have it on display on the table top. It was hard to argue with that logic too. Then she started saying things like "why do people even bother with mp3s, if you are going to spend the money get the actual album"... at the point I knew that I think she was a keeper afterall...
Ok, I knew that before then, but still, I was proud, I had gotten her to at least try to think like an audiophile, maybe not all the time, but it was enough to make me very happy, and she did it on her own. She went from complete confusion to understanding, and even supportive, of my behavior, hey this marriage could work after all!
