That's THE question.....

There was a company trying to sell some oddball "audiophile" circuit breaker boxes that used breakers rated at over 20 amps. They failed to meet code because there is no "standard" wall outlet rated at over 20 amps, and hence any overload for the line but not the breaker would have posed a potentially-catastrophic fire hazard.
