See my other reply. We're having the same sub topic in two child threads. My wife is reading them to me and typing the replies. My brain hurts. :-)
Too late and too many complications (and two and a half hour drive to nearest hyperbaric chamber). Since then most of my eye structures have been removed. It's funny, they don't want to remove my eyes, but they will take out every internal part, piece by piece. Two months ago they removed the lens and vitreous gel in one eye because the dislocated lens was up against my cornea. My eyes can't see, but they sure have pain. Twenty seven scheduled eye drops a day (so they wouldn't interfere with each other), plus pain killers (that would eventually take their toll on liver, etc) to bring the chronic pain to a "manageable" level. This is for BLIND eyes. I threatened to go outside the country and have them removed if they didn't do something. They are both empty orbs of fluid now and mostly pain free. Doctors don't seem to understand that no eyes is better than blind painful eyes. They don't get that I don't care if "Someday" they will discover a technique to use what's left of my eyes. It hurts today, everyday. I may give my doctors a surprise someday. I go to Asia every other year and may bring back my eyes in a jar as a souvenir :-). Other countries have great doctors, cash talks and I could deduct everything as a medical expense. Hmmm...
Medicine in the United States...
Sorry. Rant done.
I have a great family, great life and great HiFi (Hah, I know all you audiophile geeks are going to look at my equipment profile now. It sounds great... bring it on! :-) ). Life is good.
We read that paragraph in your post about you sharing your personal hyperbaric chamber and it made our day. Thank you.
