Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) also can cure Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (AION)(Non-arteritic). Non-arteritic AION is a loss of blood supply to the optic nerve - one of many ways to go blind.

HBOT is also known to help burns, diving injuries (embolism and decompression sickness), limb reattachments and tissue grafts, and many others as mentioned by Charles.

In my case, AION, it was too late for HBOT and it's not approved in the US (not profitable for the big companies as mentioned by Charles).

I tried to get in as a test subject, but...
Not FDA approved (results were from a study in the Czech Republic).
Insurance companies won't pay for it.
It was too late for my case (hours count and we found out about HBOT days later).

Scuba divers who suffer an embolism or decompression sickness are rushed immediatly into the nearest hyperbaric chamber. 20/20 hindsight tells me (the blind guy, LOL) that I should have put on my scuba gear, hosed myself down and driven to the hospital.
