Did you throw away all your cassettes

I have some valuable recordings on cassettes which sound quite good on my new Onkyo player.I like Nirvana's In Utero better on cassette than on CD.Recordings I made on Wollensack 3M recorder thru Advent receiver are still superb after 30 years. Pavarotti singing for 3 hours at the Met in 1978 which was broadcast live on WQXR FM is one of my favorite recordings.I dont know exactly what I should do.Get them recorded on to CD,iPod ? What CD recorder would be the best?Should I wait for new technology which seems to appear every 3 months.I am worried about fungus developing on the tape.So far so good.
