Some 60Hz amps/receivers do okay with with 50Hz others don't. And anything 60Hz with a motor is out of the question (unless it's 50/60Hz).
I'd leave the reciever in the States and buy a used one on UK ebay or froma dealer. The UK has some great audio dealers. They have lasted better there than here in the US.
