Audiophiles indeed have problems with scientific knowledge and the scientific method because it is conflict with a number of their beliefs. If they were real subjectivists I would have expected them to say stuff science I trust what I believe but few, if any, seem able to do it.

We all have our crosses to bear but I would suggest an effective way of dealing with such people could be to quote what they get wrong and state why it is wrong in simple terms underneath. If they then start attacking you rather than your argument then you will have made your point.
