Re: TRELJA & Friends in New York, 2007

We thank you for the comments about Soundsmith; especially when you said that EVERYTHING was impressinve. Many who came into the room were impressed by the sound, as well as the number of new products we developed and brought to the show - Two new subs, 5 models of new Strain Gauge preamps, the production version of the Strain Gauge cartridge, the new HI-210 100 W/CH MOSFET integrated, and our new ultra low mass moving iron "The Voice" cartridge. Your comment about the speakers being the "bottleneck" of the system is a bit confusing and possibly misleading; HiFi+ gave us the "best of show" in small and sanely priced speakers, and ususally they are always winners with those who hear them. We have never had a negative comment on them, in fact, quite the opposite - most say that that the Dragonfly and Monarch have a startling soundstage and imaging, and surprisingly deep bass for their size.

If you were referring to the fact that they are incapable of reproducing what the other components provide in terms of performance, I am in complete agreement with you - they are, after all, bookshelf speakers, and cannot produce what a floor standing or larger speaker can do. Due to lack of room, we could not bring our larger Mantis speaker systems......maybe next time. Again, many thanks for your comments - we very much appreciate them.
