I came away with two new CDs to buy:I meant to buy a J Lassour CD for some time but I could not find the one with the cut I had heard at some audition. This year the Zu room had the cut and I got the name: J lassour trio plays Bach.
This is going to sound stupid, but I also bought the remaster of Elvis to get his "Fever" track. Heard it at the show and liked it. My first Elvis record ever and I am 50!
If I could, I would buy every track John Marks was packing. That one with the organ pump pedals was interesting. Very delicate piccolo.
Just before the show I picked up the Pupinni Sisters and love it. Remakes of Andrews Sisters stuff with modernized rythms and perhaps some wording changes. Seems a lot of the songs are more about sex than I recall. They used to be about romance. Anyway, tracks 8, 10 and 14 do it for me, esp 14 and Java Jive.
Let's have your new finds -
