First step: Make sure your speakers are in phase

If your new speakers sound a bit muffled, they may simply be wired out of phase. Check the connections to your amplifier and make sure they're in phase. Second, make sure both tweeters are working. A dead tweeter will give any speaker a muffled sound.

If the Klipsches are wired in phase, with tweeters intact, it may simply be that you like the sound of the Panasonics better. Panasonic has produced some surprisingly good speakers for their price, and maybe you got lucky!
